I'm really struggling at the moment.

I'm editing my pictures on my laptop at home in the correct colour space (I believe) and submitting them. They look like what I am aiming for! The pain starts the next morning when I get in to work and view my submission from there. To my eye there are the following differences when viewed at work:
- they are darker
- they are more saturated (I think)
- they do not appear to be as sharp.

This is driving me nuts.

See my Personification entry to get an idea of what I mean. I have the same problem with my entry for Bad, and now my entry for Fruit&Veg looks seriously unnatural.

Obviously I need to sort out my laptop calibration, which will take care fo the darkness issue, but what can I do about the other problems?

When you go to a voting page and see the white to black blocks under the images.... can you see every block? If not, use that as a base to manually calibrate your monitor. Then try to get the same balance at work. That's the only way you can truly compare the two. (unless you wanna buy a nice calibrator)

I can from work. I'll check the same on the laptop when I get home tonight. I guess if my images are too dark for everybody else then I should expect to see the white squares on the left merging into each other. Correct?

Edit to add quote.

Okay - I'm still struggling - although I think I'm on the right track.

Any advice on these settings:

especially what do you guys have gamma set as?

The Windows Adobe gamma wizard helped not at all.

I've only just noticed that the last 2 or 3, can't see them to tell, black blocks all merge into one. I've tried all the various controls on my monitor and i still can't see them. How odd?
