does anyone know how to change the layout in photoshop so that when a photo is maximized it is oriented on the left side of the screen instead of the middle? when i maximize a photo at the default size, the right edge of the photo runs under the windows i have displayed on the right side of my photoshop screen. hopefully this is making sense to somebody, i'm not sure if i'm explaining it well enough. i may be missing something totally obvious but i need to ask because it's really annoying me.

I start by clicking on the Minimise icon at the top right of the screen.

I then drag the palettes into place on the right hand side and then I put my cursor over the right edge of the working area and drag it to meet with the palettes.

If you find that you still need to access the area behind the tool bar then click on the tab button and that will disappear. Hit the tab button again to bring it all back.

You can save this workspace by going to Window/Workspace/Save Workspace.

You can also save another workspace where your work area takes up the entire screen. That way you can toggle between the two.

Hope that helps.

I go to preferences and tell CS2 to allow me to use my mouse wheel for zooming in and out. Then, if the image is too big, I just zoom out until I need to see the small details.

On the other hand, I don't normally work with the image window maximized.
