Ok well the other day I was shooting and messing around with the ole cameraâ€Â¦.. and I sat it down on the table with the strap hanging off the table. Well my dog got a little happy and some how snagged the strap and it pulled it off the table ( it was not his fault we were playing in the kitchen lol ). Any ways the camera fell off the table and I have my Sb600 locked in the Mount, and it didn’t damage the camera but it about ripped the bottom piece off the Sb600 all around the base of the piece that locks into the camera is cracked on both sides and I can kinda pull it back and see wires. It still works but and the numbers show up but the red light for when the flash is ready flashes.

Ok for my question. I have 2 weddings to do this year one coming up in about a month and one twards the end of the year. So I think im going to Cancel the weddings ( if cant get the money to replace it ) I have planned. there is no way I can replace it right now I am strapped for money and if I would replace it I would not buy a SB600 Again I would get the Sb800.

Would you guys cancel too? I feel bad and don̢۪t want to cancel but I don̢۪t want to screw up any ones pictures, and don̢۪t feel right using faulty gear.

No, just rent a camera.

Are these proper pro assignments or are the clients aware you're not a pro? If they are the first, I'd be absolutely furious if I were the client, to discover that you're not carrying insurance to cater for eventualities like this.

Don't get me wrong, I think you're an excellent photographer, but there's a lot more to shooting professionally than taking nice pictures and reliability and proper investment (including full insurance) are just a small part of the list.

I'd look into renting or borrowing too.

You should rent what you need if you can't afford to buy it. I understand that your friends know you aren't a pro, but to jump ship on them this late in the game is not cool at all. They'd be hard pressed to find anyone on such short notice, not to mention, they probably have plenty of other things to worry about.

A dog crate would be better. You'll get nose prints from the dog if you lock it in a glass case. We've got tons of them on our patio door and car windows.

;D

Glad I didn't offend and also good to know that your clients are friends who do know you're not a pro. And glad to see you're covered on replacement equipment too.

Good luck!
