I am shopping for my first flash. What options do I have for use with my pentax istDL? Can I get something that will fire off the camera wireless without buying extra's?

Are the Metz flashes worth the extra money over the pentax brand?
How about the sigma brand. The sigma have some nice prices.
I would like to be able to use it off camera (wireless?) along with my on camera flash. Not sure what I should look for in a flash. I have been doing basketball photos and one of the parents I gave a DVD to asked if they could hire me to take some band photos of there daughter this spring at the school.
So I would like to pick up a flash soon so I have some time to play around with it before then.
I had no idea a guy could spend so much on one flash, wow!
Should I look at top of the line or maybe two cheaper ones?

Not much of a flash expert but you should find some help at this website. There is a contact link at the bottom of the menu section on the left. Feel free to contact Jens, as he is very knowledgeable and approachable.

I believe the Pentax 540 can be operated wirelessly, but I really have no idea. Browse the forums at dpreview, they talk about everything there.
