Hi,

I recently tried to attach my father's old Vivitar 2800 flashlight to my camera. But when I googled a bit I saw that a too high voltage could damage my Canon rebel XT. Could anyone give me advice on a cheep flashlight? I can't spend too much money because I recently bought a new lens and I'm probably not going to use the flash that much. It shouldn't cost over $200,-

Thank you

IF you don't want to spend a lot of money and don't mind using a manual flash, you could go with a Wein SafeSync between the flash and camera.

That's one option.
