OK... I screwed up !!! Like I know what 120v ac means.. Besides, I took the advice of someone ON HERE and ordered the kit they suggested.. OK, now that's off my chest, what can I do to fix this issue.. I just recieved my monolight kit from B&H and the power supply to the light is obviously non USA.. I contacted B&H and was told the kit I ordered, is the Euorpean version and to contact the customer service dept. I'd hate to send this back for an American version if there's a way to find a euro to usa power cord converter type doo hickey. :-P.. Any suggestions or am I doomed for the post office??? Thanks so much.

Converters are available all over - espcially luggage stores and places that deal with travel accessories. If it were me though, I would return them for the correct US compatible ones. Wouldn't it suck to lose your lights due to a bad converter or a power surge??

Euro power supply is 230v/50Hz, US power supply is 120v/60Hz. A lot of electronics can take either supply type, just the plugs are different.
If your power supply says "230/120v" on it, it means it's rated for either type of supply, all you've got to do is put an adapter plug on it to change it from 3 pin to 2 pin. You can get these travel adapters anywhere.
But, you'd be better off getting the advice directly from B&H - I don't want to be the next DPC person who gave you wrong advice ON HERE |

If the item number on your order document matches what's on the page for the item you linked, then the item should be USA power (120V). I see no reference to European power on that page. B&H should exchange it for the correct item, though I see it is backordered :-P
Call them and have them look at that item and *then* tell you it's a European version. But first carefully verify that what's on you order is in fact precisely the same item number |
