There is an issue that has had me so furious...

Recently, two border patrol agents were sentenced to over a decade in prison. Their crime? failing to report that they fired their guns. Their real crime...

The two border patrol officers stopped a suspected drug dealer. The suspect fled. One of the agents believing his partner to be down and thought he heard gunefire. The suspect had something shiny in his hand and the officer thought he was pointing a gun - so he fired. He thought he missed the illegal drug trafficker. They found over 700lbs of marijuana. They did not report the gun discharge though they informed their supervisor. Now, this is a breack of proper procedure but all to common because in recent years the border patrol's hands have been tied and paperwork creates political backlash.

It turns out the drug dealer was hit in the buttocks. He turned around and filed a complaint. Essentially, the district attorney gave full clemency to the drug dealer to testify against the border patrol agents. He claims he was unarmed, I have an immensely difficult time believing you're going to drive around Mexico with nearly a 1/2 ton of drugs unarmed. Yeah right. The fact is, they took the word of one sleazy drug dealer over two border patrol officers. One of which was a candidate of the year nominee.

Oh, both the officers are hispanic...so please don't say this was a prejudice thing.

These officers have been moved into prison to serve 10+ yrs. Already one has reported being been beaten up for being a former border patrol agent. They were supposed to be in isolation. Putting former border patrol agents with the same illegal aliens they have busted is a death sentence.

My favorite uncle's death was tied to drugs. Marijuana was the drug that got him started. I watched numerous friends in high school trash their life with drugs...all starting with marijuana. It is an outrage...that I can't even put into words.

BTW...the drug dealer, got busted for trafficking even more drugs a second time.

Please contact your congressmen and asked them to pass emergency legislation mandating that these two officers be moved to secluded prison environments. It's bad enough that they have to server 10+ years for keeping drugs off our streets. But those sentences should not be a death sentence.
