I am looking to buy Photomatix because I found out that they have a %70 educational discount. Now my question is this, should I buy it with the PS plug-in or not? I guess I am really asking what the plug-in does exactly. Is it just replicating the capability of PS? Or does it allow for more tone mapping options when coupled with PS. Note that I use PSE5 and not CS2.
Any other thoughts or opinions? |

| I don't think the plug-in works for PSE5, I think its just for CS2. Maybe somebody can correct me if I'm wrong. |

| The site says it works with CS, PSE4 and PSE5 but only at 16-bit color. One day I may own CS2 or even CS3 so then I would have full support. |

The capabilities of the plugin are pretty similar either way, but with the plugin you don't have to save and reopen the image in two different programs in the process. I would think the plugin would just about always be preferred.
