OK you guys, I am getting nervous..,
I have, what to me is a BIG interview on Tuesday. It is for Jr Photographer at a place whose work is lovely. They are wedding photographers but employ a more photo journalistic style, I love what I have seen on their site.
So I have told them no tales, no embellishments :) and they still called me in to see them!! I have put together a portfolio to bring, it is what they wanted after seeing stuff online and thats it...
So any last minute advise??? |

Pray? ;-) No serious (yes, do pray if ya want), but just go in with confidence in KNOWING you do very good work. And good luck.

The first thing to remember is:THEY CALLED YOU... Remember that because they would not have bothered if they didn't like what they saw.
Businesses are too busy to invite just anybody to the ball... they obviously think you have potential... now go out and prove them right!!!
The very best of luck to you...Keeping my fingers crossed.

Well, just remember that certain things are very important to wedding photographers and you should try to convey that they are important to you.
Punctuality, professionalism, ability to tale control, and good photography.
Go in present yourself with confidence and you will be fine. Your portfolio speaks for itself.

Thanks guys..
I am fairly confident that my previous career has taught me an impeccable work ethic and the ability to be creative under stress all while remaining composed.
I am just so excited, I am trying to do the old career change, and it has been trying to say the least. I feel at an advantage because my previous gig paid so low, most photo gigs are higher paying even at the bottom of the ladder...So I have no pretense about being low man on the totem pole...
Thanks to everyone here who has been so awesome and helpful and generous with their talents! |

Be sure to point out the extra, intangible something you bring to the equation: as a former pastry chef, you have the ability to rescue wedding cakes in distress :-)
I'm sure you'll do fine!

Aww Thanks guys!!
well the interview went well I think....It sounds perfect for me, you do a couple of weddings as an assistant..then you become Jr photographer. They use a Jr and a Sr for most weddings. SO the Sr dood is responsible for driving, set ups, all the shots of the BIG moments. But the junior position, which is the one I hope to land, is 100% creative. She told me as Jr. you go and shoot...they want to train you in their style and hope peeps stay on with them for many seasons...
So, they will be sending out offers in 3 weeks...I am looking desperately for temp work in the meantime and have all fingers crossed.
Check out their work, I LOVE it!!

good luck,
only advice i would give anyone is have confidence in your own ability to do the job you have applied for. If you have that then be yourself and you will go far.
