No offense, but I'm not really a fan. My main issue with it is that it doesn't feel like a finished product. The links are the default blue/purple which really doesn't show up on the black, and the table borders feel a bit tacky. With the main header, default font, and links, you've got four different colors of text which could be OK, but the colors that are there don't really work together. Look into Cascading Style Sheets to style your text. It would help out a lot with the overall look and feel.
I'm also not a fan of the way you've laid it out into a single page. I think it could work, but needs some tweaking. The galleries dominate the page, and thats fine since they're more or less the point. But them I'm confused because there are two other galleries which are the 'recent work' and I'm not really sure what difference is between a 'gallery' and 'recent work' except time. I'd just make them all galleries, I thing 'recent work' is unnecessary. The references are also listed right below the 'recent work' which makes them seem like similar items but they don't seem to me to be related.
You might think about a two-page site instead (not counting galleries) in which the main page has only your galleries and the second page has something about yourself (if you want) and your references. You might type out (on your page) the contact information for each reference then have a link to their main home page since its not always apparent at first glance why you like to the page you do (like: //www.superiorglacier.com/index.php?/news/40/)
All that said it also depends what you want to use the site for. If its going to be used for getting more work I'd say put a bit more time into it, but if its just a casual showcase than you can probably disregard most of this. Sorry if that seemed a bit harsh, but hopefully some of it might be helpful. The photography is stunning BTW :) |
