...has anyone ditched the standard neck strap for their camera in favour of something that better suits their personality?
I'd really like a 70's style strap, but where do you get one?

Dude - Optitech USA - the gel-filled strap rocks. I have one on each of my cameras.

I've got a couple of really nice neoprene rubber ones, a bit like wetsuit material. They are Kaiser branded, although their website dosn't show them when I googled it..
