i'm of the don't feed the spammer camp .. by replying it only verifies you've read their email & you can be resold ..
one of the obvious reasons this is an obvious spam
I am not ade@yahoo
never have been ...
i get plenty of other crud (100+ a day) but this was a first

the key is to spam them back to the point they don't want to hear from you anymore...
how did you end up with the email if that's not your address?

thus clogging up the system with even more crap & potentially being labeled a spammer myself .. no thankyou

thats just mail header munging .. kind of like the come-on for stock spam , the illusion that you are privy to 'inside info' addressed to someone else ..
lots of suckers that fall for this crap ...

well geez 3 in 4 emails are spam - taking a proactive approach isn't gonna do any harm...
my domain recently got spoofed. i was getting like 200 returned emails a day. i called my host who pretty much said that 'yes, it is a federal crime. but there is nothing we can do, the government can do, and very little you can do. what i can do is turn off the catch all filter for your mail server so you don't SEE the spoofing...'
until there us some kind of system to stop the abuse of bandwidth i don't see the harm in a little prankish fun...
to each his own.
i did do some reading about a microsoft effort at validating emails to the originator but there doesn't seem to be too many hosts ready to start using the protocol ( it's still in beta )
