Ok, most everyone will have infinitely better shots than this, but I just wanted to be the first... :) Post your eclipse shots here!

Shot at 7:08 p.m., by the way.

Thank you, first time I tried linking a photo to a thread, I guess I did something wrong. Thanks

Nope... that's just hand-held with a 300mm lens. It's blown up a bit, and not nearly as sharp as I'd like. I'd love to try it with a telescope, but I'll have to do quite a bit of high-pitched whining for that... :)

Mine were through a spotting scope at 20x. Hand held at 1/4 second. I need to make an adaptor, so they are sharper. Van

well, not nearly exciting as your photos, but here is my best shot of the eclipse. I have one that is showing the red a bit, but even though my cam was on a tripod, the wind was blowing which double imaged it a bit.
Had fun anyway! :)

Karen,

I like yours. The contrasts of the building and moon are nice. Van

Jacques, this was not my image, it belongs to "Ladpupmoe". I just tried to help with the failed link.

Lunar Eclipse - 10:40 PM - Toronto

The eclipse is all over here in Toronto. There is just a great big "Bella Luna" hangin' out there now brightly illuminating the night streets.

I took this one last image to complete the series that I have been shooting all evening. This time, I added a x2 converter to the Nikkor 1000 mm f11.0 catadioptric lens for a total magnification of x60 (added to the x1.5 resulting from the CCD of the D1x camera body).

This image is not cropped whatsoever. The tight framing is the result of the high magnification of the fixed prime optics. I would need to move further back to avoid cutting off the edges - let's say, as far back as Australia or Brazil. [LOL]

Cheers, Michael

Thanks for sharing all these great photos!

We were out on a hike last night and it was so incredible watching that eclipse as it just hung right over the mountain above us.

From the Spelling Police: E-C-L-I-P-S-E is the event we watched; an ELLIPSE is the shape of the moon's orbit. It's not so important here in the thread, but I thought you might want to update the info on the print image.

But maybe I'm just jealous since, with the rain around here, my view of the eclipse more closely resembled Setzler's gray card than anything you folks have posted.

this was about an hour after the eclipse...was very clear here. Will post others later if they turn out.

PS this was handheld, and in 'fine' mode. don't have a RAW conversion software program with me today...
