First thanks to everyone who commented and PMd me about the Halloween entry. You guys rock. :)

Secondly, I had lots of people asking me to post the original and the steps to get to the final image.

The original:

Guess I should add the link to the final one too :)

I shot this in my bathroom, with a black sheet hung over the shower curtain rod. i shot it in RAW format with the cam's built-in flash, so i had the option to change the white balance to incandescent, which gave the yellow cast. I also decreased the exposure (another lovely RAW feature) by 2/3 EV to lose some of the detail in the shirt/background. then, in order:
1. cloned out the skin around my neck
2. masked the eyes and hue shifted them to red
3. used the 'warp'tool in the 'liquify' filter to stretch the pupils into cat-eye shapes, stretch my ears and eyes, grow horns, and fangs.
4. also in the liquify filter, the 'Bloat' tool made my eyebrows thicker, and my nose bigger (and nastier), and furrowed my brow more.
5. Master hue shift towards yellow a bit more
6. unsharp mask
7. Borders
8. Resize in 'save for web'
9. unsharp mask again
10. Reeeeeeally light Neat Image, to smooth out the edits.

That's pretty much it. took less than 10 minutes start to finish, and was way cleaner than actually putting the make-up on. :)

Thanks again.

Pedro

final edit: all was done in Photoshop 7, by the way

You have great PS skills. Its a terrific photo, and an awesome job. I gave it a 10.

BTW, its MUCH harder then he makes it seem. I could mess with my PS for 2 days and not get it that perfect.

Great Job !

Thanks for that, it is always helpful to know how such a great PS job was performed :)
