So I've been waiting to post this. For the Minimalism challenge and the Fill the Frame challenge, I shot the same subject.

There are only a couple of minutes between these (below) two exposures, but each was shot with the final edit / intent in mind.

The first was Minimalism - so I worked HARD to get perfection (as I could) in camera:
.
The goal here was (in my mind) to backlight the subject so much that any background distractions would be obscured, then light the subject's face only as necessary.

Then to Fill The Frame - I knew I wanted to use flood filter, since i haven't seen it used in Expert Editing yet and wanted to know how it would fare. So I re-framed, but only barely moved the lighting - the PP'd the hell out of it.

For each shot, the intent of final product was different, but the subject and setting hadn't changed. I shot with the end product in mind and then edited accordingly (Shannon, I read the rules first, lol).

I was so curious about how the same subject would do, I had to try it.

I think you pulled it off really well. I would not have guessed that it was the same subject you used, mainly cause of the lighting and the foreground on the fill image.

What a great idea - trying out the same subject in two different challenges. I actually like your minimalsm pic a tad better - the simplicity and the color really stand out.

They are both fantastic shots. I think your fill the frame was actually quite underrated.

Thanks guys. Flowers aren't really my thing, so that made this even more challenging for me. But mostly I just wanted to see how I could use one subject to take advantage of two totally different rulesets. It was an interesting challenge.
