Woo hoo! Night Shot is one of this week's challenges. And I know just the shot I've been waiting to enter. :)

And hey, Deb - bicycles! You own that subject.

I'm only in the Free Study right now. I can't remember the last time I only had one image in voting.

I can't believe it :-( I thought my contre-jour was going to be my best shot yet. I started with a 3 for the first vote. It's oh so sad to suck so bad.

I don't know about that.

I should have entered this for contre jour - but I didn't - I think I am going to regret this decision.

Outtakes shouldn't be posted as per forum rules.

But the main point of this post is:

The brown ribbon is MINE!!!! MINE, I TELL YOU!! MUAHAHAHAHAAHHAA!!!!!!

I don't know, I think it may really be mine. I should have entered fitness. Not that that would have been any better, I just had too high a hope for my contre-jour shot.

I think I will turn my brown ribbon into a crown and I can be the queen of crap :-)

I think the worst part about it all is that my husband's last 2 photos are scoring better than mine and I am the one who wants to be the photographer. What's up with that?!? I never should have let him come play in my DPC sandbox. Getting beat by all of you is fine, you are awesome photographers, but him? He's my husband and he is using my camera! (which he bought with money from his items he sold so I could have a camera, OK, so maybe he is not all bad :-)

Thank you all for letting me vent. Now to hope that he doesn't start reading the forums also :-)

Awww, that doesn't sound fun. But I would suggest turning this into something positive as well! I have heard people on the forums saying that their spouse does not support their photography hobby. Totally does not understand the interest, discourages them, etc. So why don't you make it something you can share? Sounds like you have a good basis for it since you are both enjoying taking pictures. I have loved walking around outside with my friend peroty taking pictures - this was before I had a camera so we shared. He would take shots and I would take other shots that he would never have seen. And he showed me things I didn't see.

I'd also recommend that since you are a member, make great use of the portfolio space! That can be a great boost because we get to share and get feedback on shots without the pressure of a score.

Kelly, thanks for the encouragement. It's still too early to tell with my contre-jour entry, but I'll also say it really doesn't matter, because I quite enjoyed shooting for it. I have a bunch of other shots I'll eventually stick in my portfolio. And I can't NOT shoot for bicycles - not my forte in pictures, Jeff, but certainly one of my favorite subjects!

:)
Glad you enjoyed shooting for it. And hope you have fun with bicycles too :-)

time to brag; i got a new Personal Worst on my spinning entry! Yayh!

Kashi and Jackal well done on the 6+ scores. well done to all TeamSuck BTW

Muppet, i have to comment that your low light entry is brilliant, it deserved much more than it got. It also reminds me of an Ansel Adams shot (Rose on Driftwood).

Team Suck, be proud!

I think 9th place is about to go to Mary, as I've been asked for proof (for April fools?) so it'll be DQed. Not a problem - not the world's most serious undertaking.

Massive congrats on the obscenely high scores around here. (For which I'm still making up).:)
