Day 6
Elmira, NY
OK, it's not the best shot and I really should have had a tripod with me to allow for using a smaller aperture, but it certainly does sum up the weather here over the past few days.

Day 6. Another shot from my favorite park in Louisville.
It's not the best shot but it is "Where I Live".
This is a view of the same skyline looking south from indiana.
Taken back in october. Included here just for the heck of it.

I am so enjoying this thread so much everyone, and really try to leave as many comments as I can.
I would have also entered images here, but with going away for Peters treatment, it would be to much.
Maybe I can just add a few occasionally, so you can see where we are, when I get to Sydney.
Thanks for sharing your images with us everyone..... |

YAY! I got caught up on my comments. I've had such a busy 2 days I was afraid of getting behind on them.
Here is my day 7 shot. I have to use a shot from the other day for this. We've had snow, sleet and freezing rain today. Days like this my Camaro Z28 stays parked where it is safe from the slippery streets!

This is a little spot along the road that I take on the way to work. I have been shooting it each season, and this is season 3, winter. Here is the summer shot:

Ok, I'm gonna cheat for day 6. I just got home from work about 1/2 hour ago, and it's dark out. Thus, I'm posting one that's actually been in my portfolio for quite a while now.
This shot was taken from the parking lot at Patriots Point, and shows the sun setting behind the USS Yorktown Aircraft Carrier. I's a WWII carrier, and a tourist attraction in Mount Pleasant, SC.

I have worked in radiology for 18 years - much of it in the ER, where you often get utilized for other tasks. I have not worked as an EMT before. The borough here will send me to the local college for the one semester EMT course, plus provide my on site training through the fire station. I took my application packet in today - and they said everything looks great! The next course at the college isn't until fall - but meanwhile I can start getting my other training in most likely. That will be up to the Chief. Since Big Lake really needs all the volunteers they can get I don't think it'll be an issue for him either. So hopefully I can start getting in my on site training, and ambulance driving hours in before classes start. Then once I get through the classes I'll be certifiable as an EMT I . Even though I'll be classified as a volunteer, even the volunteers get some pay for the hours they work. It isn't much - which isn't an issue as I wanted to do this for my community, aside from my well paying job at the hospital. |

Typical natural trees that grow in South Florida. water oaks, a live oak, and sabal palms. The water oaks shed most of their leaves during the winter. This is a little pasture that belongs to a friend of mine. I used a polarizer. Cropped a little off the left and top, brightened up just a little. There are about 25 robins in the grass that can't be seen in this image.
Good day for palm trees here. Redjulep and I must have been uploading at the same time.
Here are the robins with a longer lens. Cropped and uploaded, No PP.
