Just messin' around with a new plugin for Bibble. Which of these do you like best (or do they all suck). Feel free to say whatever you want (constructively) I can take it.
1.
2.
3.
Note: on 2 and 3 the splotchiness is from the quick resize I did, just disregard that ;) |

Hey Dan, I think I like the first one best. I like the color and warmth. Nice capture. Did you have a small army of strobes set up? |

First one (or possibly the third). In my opinion, b&w is a sin in this case - it would be a crying shame to lose those rich colors.

I could be totally out of line, but I snagged your photo and messed with it.My main problem with the shot is what seems to be motion blur.I added more contrast and squeezed the white and black points in levels. The spots on the backdrop along with what appears to be a finger under the girls arm (sticking out between the curtains), are an eyecatcher.

thanks for the opinions.
The plugin I got simulates B&W film and paper types and chemistry from many different manufacturers. Sometimes I really miss the days of shooting film with my darkroom set up in my bathroom. There was a quality to the prints I've never been able to duplicate with digital.
The plugin looks promising but I agree this probably isn't the best shot for it. I was working on images from that show tonight and just picked that one out randomly to play with. The first pic is the original, the second obviously B&W and the third is the B&W with the color mixed back into it. The images definitely aren't complete, but as stated I really was just playing with the plugin more than anything.
I shot it with my 50 f/1.4 at f/1.4 so the fuzziness is actually lens bloom more than anything. All stage lighting - no strobes this time. I'm not allowed to use strobes during performances ;)
I'll see if I can find a better couple of pictures to really test with and post back soon. I also got an "Ansel Adams" plugin that allows me to individually control each zone that seems pretty cool. The latest build of Bibble is awesome. |

This one better?
Or am I just deluding myself and I should stick with color (or go sell copiers or something).
For anyone interested this is:
Kodak - Kodalith, grade D11 2.5min film
Foma - Fomaspeed, grade 1 - Soft grade paper |

One last change before bed. Use yet another plugin to tone the paper and ink colors to warm it up a bit. |

Last bump before I pack up and start searching the classifieds for copier salesman jobs... |
