| Don't know if this is a bit too out of mainstream, but could be a fun challenge considering comet mcnaught... doesn't just have to be comet photos, could also include just generally starry skies etc |

| Astrophotography is a pretty niche field within photography, and comet astrophotography is a niche within a niche. It's also VERY dependent on access to dark skies, quality of the weather, availability of equipment, etc. Probably wouldn't go over very well.... |

Thanks for the vote of confidence Steve, but if I believed in myself that much, I'd be pushing for this challenge too! Fortunately, we have among us a number of people who are capable of capturing the night sky with such skill and imagination that my own plodding attempts pale in comparison. Witness:
    
And this is not even dipping into the incredible Aurora Borealis shots we've seen here (damn Larus!). No, I'm afraid I'd get spanked in a sky/astro challenge! |
