A friend of mine wants to buy/rent a scanner that will scan a stack of photos, slides, and/or negatives without being attended to. Any ideas?

That looks pretty good for documents. Do you think it is any good for photos?

Edit: Does it really scan at 2400 DPI?

The manual says that photos must be placed on the glass one at a time. That will not work.

I know Epson has one, with automatic photo feeder, but it only accepts 4x6..would that work for your friend?

I use an older HP, Hewlett Packard 5530. It seems to work well as long as the photos are newer and cut more squarely. The manual states not to feed it irreplaceble photos in case of a jam.

It scans at 2400 dpi, 4 x 6's and maybe 5 x 7's, photos only. I also comes with a manual light-box for 35mm film and slides. They're fed straight through so nothing gets curled.
