I made some exposures using manual/bulb and when I looked at the exif data to make sure the date was correct I noticed the shutter speed does not show as bulb, but, either a "1" or "1024". I'm checking it using PSE4. Just wondering if this is normal as this shot is for an upcoming challenge and just want to make sure everything is ok.

Thanks

It will show the actual open time, so if you hold it open for 20 seconds, that is what should show up. Some software doesn't always correctly interpret the field for all cameras, especially when the time is very long.
It will be fine for a challenge entry. We're not normally concerned about specific camera settings.

Its okay can i asjk a question about exif..... Lol The samsung A930 Camera Phone which is on our equipment list. The EXIF data/time is somewhere around 24 hours off of the phones actual time. The file created date will be the time the picture was taken but the exif date is 24 hours behind.

Whatever the time difference is its consitant. If both dates are within the challenges time frame whats the ruling on this. Just curious.

The phones 1.3 MP and it records to a MicroSD card which is how i get the pics on and off. I only used it once here to be the first todo it with that phone. I seriously doubt ill ever use it again.

If you drop it again, does it still behave the same?

(sorry, couldn't resist the temptation:-)

If both are within the challenge timeframe, it should be OK, but if either one of them is out, then not. The interesting question is, why is it doing that??

I dont know, I havent had time to mess with it like i usualy would due to it being my phone. But the phones reprogrammed by verizon they have a tendency to kill certain features. Its not unlikley they messed up the time stamp conversion.

I forget how far off it is but enough to make a Picture taken on the evening of the 5th have the date of the 4th.

EDIT for sirdanz.... heh how about 20 times?
