They are coming...are you ready?? Anyone have useful tips to help us novices out?

btw...might make for a good speed challenge...hint hint.

The two lunar eclipses are both in progress at moonrise for North America. These present some good opportunities for moonrise shots with interesting foreground landscapes. Start hunting your sites now!

I'm just noticing this for the first time, but it's uber-cool. The NASA eclipse web site linked by sabphoto now has interactive eclipse maps that are powered by Google. This is a very natural application of google's mapping technology, but I'm seeing it for the first time today.

As an example, here is the map and path of the August 2017 total eclipse which will be visible on a path from coast to coast in the USA. You can zoom in and see which specific cities and towns lay within the path of totality. Very nice!
