I found a couple good books for the Book Titles challenge over at Amazon.
This one, this one and this one all seem like strong contenders. |

I posted this in another thread, but there it goes again...
This time you might be able to get away with having a cat picture in a challenge - why don't you do "A Cat in the Hat" book by Dr.Zeus. Many people identify with that.
I do not have a cat, so I cannot use this idea, but go ahead, give it a try :-)))

How to tell the difference (from a radio commercial):
DOG: Hey, I know you! You're the guy that buys my food and takes me for a walk sometimes.
CAT: This is my house ... you just live here. |

LOL :-) This is my favourite thread. :-)))
According to cat ideas, I have 3 black ones - each of them belongs to 3 different neighbours, they just come to play in our garden. Who needs them for the shot? I will lend them to anyone who wants, they look really nice and stupid together. :-)))))))))

I only have 1 worry about voting on this challenge, that people will mark down for "off-topic," I don't really forsee it because I have heard most people mention what I am about to do, I'm giving everyone the benefit of the doubt as far as title goes. I am thinking about giving bonus points for extra creativity, but not dock anyone for the titles. Just my two cents worth. Really, I am quite excited to see the entries tonight, there are a lot of creative people out there. |

If in doubt, just add the author to the title of the photograph. If people don't think it meets the challenge, they can look it up. Better yet, provide the ISBN. |

May I ask why? The first few photos I saw had the author's name and ISBN number in the title. I had to go back to the challenge requirement to check whether I goofed because I didn't include them but they're in Photographer's Comment box.

My goodness! I would never have thought to include the ISBN number or the author. It says, "Book Title". I didn't include them in mine and I sure hope I'm not marked down because of it.

It's give or take. If you did "Hamlet" then the author is fairly obvious (well, it's up for debate but that's not the point). However, if your photo is titled "A Rose Lying in the Light on the Table" then you better include an author 'cause I ain't looking it up and I ain't believing it if I see it.
That being said, the hardest thing I find is subjects that don't reflect the title. I assume that the relation exists with the subject of the book more than the title and I find myself having to look up the book and reading the synopsis to make the connection (or simply skipping the photo). I mention this particular because I think I am on the receiving end of this problem. Someone not familiar with the subject of this book will not be able to make the connection. The book itself is very well known but few people have read it. |
