I used to enter most of the challenges regardless if I thought my shot would suck or not. I even entered a shot that was terrible in hopes of the brown ribbon, and for a few laughs.
But now my fragile ego can't take the abuse and I only enter what I think would be a 6 or above. I must be way off, because my last entry was 5.6x and my current one is hovering around 5.9x. |

If I love a photo, but know it won't do well in a challenge, I'll put it in my portfolio instead. I never enter photos into a competition unless I feel it is compettive enough to do well (but sometimes I'm sure wrong :). I sit out alot of challenges I've shot for -- and have a photo for -- but in the end realize its not up to snuff.
