I posted "Is This Shot Possible" yesterday and recieved very good advice. My problem was backlit subjects and how to expose them quickly.BradP mentioned using the AE Lock function and it worked like a charm.I would like to thank everyone for the help offered.

Today's Encounters

Thanks Again

p.s. The purple and green fringing(sp?) must be the lens (75-300@300)

The exposure seemed to work nicely on both those images however on the Heron I am noticing a lot of chromatic aberration.

I'm thinking it's the lens because it was on the hawk also I just desaturated it.

Glad this worked out.
The CA (fringing) is something that just happens when there is a dividing line between two radically different exposure / contrast levels, and is compounded by lesser quality lenses. Even happens with top of the line lenses too.
Using a small sponge in destauraton mode, zooming way and desaturating the CA at 100% strength can be of help, and there are a number of tools, plugins, programs etc. that can do it also.
