So these are shots of my daughter taken yesterday, i don't know if they are good or bad.










What i can do to these to get better?

The straight-face shots are too straight-faced and cropped too tight for my taste. I am biased though, I think all children should be smiling. :) Otherwise, the technicals are good, the lighting seems good. On the editing side, I like the way you did this one:


I think I like the color better than BW. Hope this is helpful.

Oh Thank you very much.
It was difficult to get any smiling from my daughter, and it was fast shots taken as she was ready to go out with my sister.
I can keep the shot uncropped but there are alot of elemnts that can make what you call 'distraction'.
I just posted to see if i did good or i need alot more of things to do to make portraits successful.
Smile is my key next time and sure i will give it another try, but about lighting i am not good in lightings and still i am using my normal flash 580EX.

Have you tried any natural lighting from a window? You can get some nice touches with that, if her face is slightly turned. She is very pretty though! You must have some fun trying to decide which camera to use when it comes to taking photos!! :-)
