I went to the North American International Auto Show, aka Detroit Auto Show, on Monday and here are some images.
All shot with the canon 10-22, including the last image, a panorama (540k file size in it's 'original' size, and be sure to view it that way)

Really worth the trip!
This lens allows you get pretty darn close and capture the car or other scene without the crowd getting in the way.

I was surprisingly bright in there - i think the EXIF is on the site with teh images, ISO 400 for mostif I recall.

One of the beauties of a wide angle, er, short focal length lens is the reciprocal for shutter speed is ridiculously low - at 10mm it's 1/10 of a second! Most were taken at 1/100-1/250 and shot in RAW, as I knew the WB would be an issue to deal with.

The hard part was dealing with the hot spots from the lights on the cars and the display and such. Most were shot a -1/3 to -2/3 exposure compensation in AV mode to try and keep too many highlights from blowing out. The lighter cars were easier than the dark ones as the overall contrast range was less to deal with.

Overall I'm pretty happy with the results. If you look closely enough at some of the images you'll see sharp and not so sharp areas - it's the lens, but I'm not sure if it's the nature of a very wide lens or if I have a bad copy or it's my technique. Some images (ones I didn't post) are real bad. Probably my technique as I had troubles when I first got a long lens.
