This might get some interesting results.
Probably some interesting voting curves too.
Take a photo of something or some situation that REALLY drives you nuts.
PS. I'd like to thank Canon Sales and Marketing for the idea for this thread... Particularly whoever it was that made the decision to make all of the more developed/richer Asian countries (Korea, Taiwan, China...) unable to obtain printers newer than two years old, while making affordably priced cutting edge technology (a la iP4300) available in miniscule markets such as Vietnam and Malaysia)... While making the virtually identical model available in a few other similarly small markets for DOUBLE the PRICE.
Somehow I just know that I'm going to end up having to pay around $230-250 US for a printer that first came on the market in America at 89.95 with rebates... and I've had to argue and wrestle and wait for 6 months just to find this out... oh, did I mention I live 20 minutes away from the Canon factory in Taiwan? *****fume***** |

Heh Melethia, Amazon.com sure does sound like a great idea. Except that from America, the slowest shipping to TW is 121 bucks US.
Aside from that, there is the amazon.com.jp, which has some special shipping requirements, but the page that is supposed to be in English is not. Oh, and oddly enough, the price for the printer in Japan is more than 150 US. Plus shipping of at least 20 bucks... grrr...
A Japanese friend might be able to help me out, but patience appears to be the name of this game. |
