Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED

I need all the help I can get. I am trying to increase my experience to include different family settings. This is an idea that I have seen many places and wanted to try. I have a few of my own nitpicks with this image, but I won't list them here. I would like to see what other photographers think of this image. I would appreciate hearing any praise, of course, but what I am really after are the flaws in the image. Please feel free to list them all!

I think a more gradual fade to black on the necklines would be much better (and maybe even a bit of blur on the edge from full lit to black there also?

OK. I tried to apply some of the changes suggested in the comments. Did I try too hard? Or not enough? How can I make it better?
