Hello, I've been planning to show some of my work to the world, but here on DPC we only get 10MB of space.

Can someone recommend a good website that offers more than the 10MB limit and some good features as well. Money is not an issue, I am not looking for a free space. I've looked at 'PBase' and Trek Earth, but I know there must be others.

Can you tell me your experience with some of these websites.

Thanks much.

'Smugmug' That's what I use and I love it. You get unlimited storage and 1gb bandwidth per month. The set up is nice and it's easy to use. You can upload images up to 8mb in size. If you need more bandwidth, want to upload mpegs, or would like to customize the look of your album (i.e. to match your own website, or something) you can choose from two other packages. Check it out!

Can we use that for any kind of photos? I think I already registered, but it looked like we should only put our best/finished stuff there. And can we link to them from here?

I put everything up. And yes, it allows direct linking.

OK, trying to answer my own forum post :-))), I did some digging and gathered some links to photoalbum sites. Some offer free storage, some charge fair price per year. Some are more professionally looking than others that are more family friendly. Check them out, pick the one that best suits you needs.

I set up my own website and use Cornerhost. www.cornerhost.com I pay them about $130 a year for 100 MB (I also have a database set up too though, I think its around $100 w/ out that feature).

I've had about 3 hours of downtime in the last year, and that was while they were updating software on their servers. I wouldn't have even noticed it, but the owner emailed everyone and told them about it, then emailed afterwards apologizing because it was only suppose to take an hour.

It might be a little bit higher priced then some other hosts, but the customer service is unbelieveable.

there's a lot of free and large space, but anyone care to read the fine prints and agreements?
