America 24/7 Anybody buy or have seen it yet? A book in the week of life in America. It's incredible.
"From May 12-18, 2003, nearly 4,000 professional photographers and tens of thousands of amateurs participated in America 24-7, the watershed event of the new digital photography age."
You can actually order a copy with own picture for the cover.
Any participants from DPC get their pictures in it?

It's definitely on my Christmas list. I saw a slideshow of some of the pictures on MSNBC. Here's the link to the slideshow and a story about it:

They did a segment about the book on CBS Sunday Morning today. The editors said they're going to do books for each state now. Funny thing about having your own pic on the cover, they said a great majority of the people have had their dog's picture for the cover!

Looks like next year they will be publishing books for each state. I guess they can go next to my quarters ;)

Cheapest way to go seems to order the personalized cover for $5.99(includes shipping and handling) and buy the book for $28.99 at CostCo and replace with the personalized cover. Excellent Christmas gift.

I entered 5 shots in (amateur could only enter 5, pros could enter like 150), nothing in that one, but then again only seen 3 shots from CO. I took shots of places that were interesting and a place where people go to or want to see. I looked through it and noticed that amost all the pics had people in it (my mistake). Here's looking forward to the CO book though...who knows.
I wonder what the ratio of amateur to pro photos were in the book?
What I entered.

should have came to DPC earlier.
I guess you don't know if you have a picture in the book until you look through it.
Dacrazyrn- The 4th and 5th pictures are excellent. Hope to see you photos in the CO book. They should offer a discount if you buy all 50 of them.

I hope too! (C: Thanks, also. I wouldn't mind having all 50, but OUCH! that would be expensive even with a discount.
I checked the book out at Borders, by the way.

I think you'd know because they were supposed to get back to us and confirm things -- they sent out a follow-up note to have our copies of everything handy. |

I heard about someone on a list I'm on. The large basket-shaped building photo was his. The publishers contacted him prior to publication.

The Longaberger Basket Company? That's in Ohio, I believe.

FYI, Barnes & Nobel currently has the books for 30% off ($35). I just picked up a copy tonight. |
