So I'm chatting with my friend this morning. He is working on his degree in photography and says his instructors tell him to capture digital B/W images using the monochrome function on his camera rather than doing the conversion in pp. This evening, to play with my new lighting options in the studio, I shot some portraits and used the monochrome function and uhm... wow... once I got the lighting right, the results were better conversion than I typically do myself.
So I've decided to shoot B/w only for a few days and see if the world looks any different to me -- or if my camera works differently for me (settings, etc).
What do you guys think?
Here is a quick sample (NO EDITING):

It looks good but why limit yourself. If you shoot it in B/W then all it can ever be is B/W. |

If you shoot raw, that's not true.. atleast not with canon. The software that comes with canon allows you to go through and choose black and white/color/sharpness and all that after the shot. |
