So far I think I have.

Me too, Di. No sour grapes here. I always try to vote fairly.

I'm sorry, but I'll admit that my voting average went down during this challenge. There is some fantastic photography amongst the 494 entries, but there is also alot of mediocre-at-best as well.

I agree. A bunch of soft focus snapshots out there. But I did give out quite a few high scores. I bunched them all as an 8 and will go through and bump up the ones that really stand out. There are a few.

Now mine was a spur of the moment shot, so it probably will get what it deserves. I've turned off the scores. So I don't know where it's at now. It started in mid 4's.

As I've told others, I score an entry 8 or 9 because I think that's what it deserves even if I'm only getting a 5 or 6. I'm not going to change MY opinion just because the voters don't recognize a 10 when they see one. ;-)

when i first started on this site my voting average was 5.7 or something like that, then i thought why is everyone giving me so low i started voting bad. and finally i realized it was a problem with my shots, everytime i submitted one, i missed out on something and i realized it afterwards. so now i vote fairly and try my best to improve my pics. If i am going to complain about the trolls , i better not be one:)

I started voting on B&W portraits... Some are extremely good and very refreshing. But MANY are aweful! Sepia... Partial desat... Photos that are nothing close to a portrait, etc... and we got to rate around 500 of them?!?! Ouch! Ok... back at it...

lol. Calm down. They're just pointing out what they find distrating about the image, what does work for them, call to them.

It's not a personal attack upon you or your model. :)

Only if your skin is silver! It would have worked for scalvert when he painted his face and layed down inside a garbage can lid for the chrome challenge...

I know, I know...but what can I do about the models ears? :-D

camouflaging was not an option even if I díd notice it.

Oh well, we'll see how it goes :-D

I'll have to break it gently to the model though ... lol

You sure the comment wasn't about SIZE? The maximum image size is 640. I just saw an image that was 300x450. By going so small you handicap yourself.
01/10/2007 04:51:58 PM · #174
yup...my image was def 640. i made sure of that. thats why i dont understand

Ok... I'm done for a while. I've got some errands to run.
