Thanks Jeff.
Well, at least we made it through one round. I blew my wad on that one and I'm afraid both my portrait and multi-lighting entries are sucking. I'm predicting maybe a 5.2?
With Svetlana's accident, and Art's mid-life crisis, I'm not very optimistic about this round. :-(

thank you thank you!! I am enjoying the sun and the view on my balcony and life is not that bad after all:)
I got 6.82something in crossdressing, definitely not the best I've made, but it scored highest:) funny. does it count?
what is a round? |

Hi Svetlana, I'm glad to hear you're relaxing. The sun is so nice for the spirit!
You had TWO awesome entries last week, congrats! :-D The best of the two counted toward our first round of the playoffs. If you're bored, click on the "Trigger Happy" part of our signatures and you can cruise the WPL4 site. Look at the Playoffs tab and you'll see what rounds are. This current round we're matched up against ICE&US.
Keep on healing! :-)

We're going to go down in this round for sure then. I don't have an entry in...I didn't in the first playoff round either :(
I've just been uninspired with the challenges for the last couple of weeks so decided not to enter something third rate. Maybe in hindsight I should have done that "for the good of the team" but it's too late now.
Congrats on the great shots in round 1 of the playoffs, maybe we will be surprised in round 2. If not, just remember that we are 1 round further on than we got in the last WPL. Two more WPL's with this trend and we'll be in the finals!

I thought I had the accident and Svetlana had the mid-life crisis? Shows how much I pay attention. :/ Screw it. I'm buying a motorcycle, closing my business, hooking up with a sweet young honey and riding off to Mexico to start another secret family! I'll post some pics when I get there. :) |

Your Circle and Cross-dress entries were awesome, as the high scores would reflect. Too bad Time didn't count, you were really on a roll.
I am in Color Portrait with a 6.35 and Cell Phone with a 5.7
I have an idea for Pop Culture and Spin. I'll try to shoot this weekend. I am going to Las Vegas for a conference, leaving Sunday. My last Vegas trip yielded my only ribbon.

No worries, this is just a for-fun thing. And sheesh, you were in a car wreck!!!
I played high school hockey in the good ol' northern USA. We were in a tourny in Lake Placid, where we lost the first game to the team that ended up winning the tourney, it was close and there were some questionable calls. We went on to win the consolation tourney. The coach was the last one to get on the bus, and was carrying the foot and a half tall trophy, which he then threw into the garbage. Haha! I played for fun. I dunno, maybe he got bonuses depending on our performance. We did pull in money at the ticket booth, so it's possible.

I see it happening all the time in the tennis center where I work, children play tournaments every weekend and don't even look at the trophies, so we use them as vases for flowers:) |

We lost and it's our own fault. We only had 3 photogs in the last round. Shame on those of us who didn't enter (myself included).
If you'd really like to feel bad then here's another fact. If a 4th photographer had entered a shot scoring anything above 5.1 we would have won.
I hevent entered for a couple of weeks due to lack of inspiration for photos that would score well but I probably could have got a 5.1 image if I'd tried. Sorry team, I feel worse after calculating that :(
I'll keep track of our scores for the next round and see how we would have gone in the "League Championship" round. Maybe I shouldn't in case we would have won that too!

Crap. I feel awful about that.
...but I blame Nuzzer. ;-)
Sometimes it's just as hard to shoot a mediocre pic just to get an entry in and when you do manage it, you suffer through it for an agonizing week. I hope to be able to do better next time. |

This is particularly sad seeing as I have close to a PB in Spinning, although the voting is still in the somewhat early stages.
Would have been fun to win it all folks.
I must say I am a bit dissappointed that we couldn't get 4 entries over 2 challenges.
I understand that some people had real issues, but not everyone.
I may sit out the next round of WPL, we'll see.

Yeah, I didn't have real issues, just minor ones. I could have taken some mediocre shots for sure.
