Hopper just enter "1" in the first column in the first row with a name. (Cell A2, for example). Then in cell A3 use "=sum(A2+1)" Then cut and paste cell A3 into the next 100 cells or so. That will give you 100 sequential numbers.

i think the "rank" function is what i need, but i've never used it :)

But can you Sum with text in the field? And how would that effect adding names later?

You would have one column for the rank and another for the name. You don't want to associate the name and number anyway since they will change from week to week.

Enjoy yourself Bear. The trouble comes keeping up with DQs. One DQ means you have to go back and change everybody up one (no mistakes now), etc. Even keeping track of 25 names with only 5 places it was a pain.

Somewhere, but I'm not sure where. De Sousa has 5 ribbons on the chart, but he's listed with 4. Sammie is listed below Amiethetoo even though she has 3 blues to Amiee's 1. Looks like Brin has 8 ribbons, but he's listed with 9 on the left side... hey, who's in charge of quality control on this thing? ;-P

Sammie. I do apologise. I was hoping to go through and check the details as I had already picked up a few errors, but I didn't have time and relied on Achoos stats instead.

Yes - I made a mistake and used Judi's scoring rather than ribbon counting - all fixed now I hope

"5 points for a blue, 4 for a red, 3 for a yellow, 2 for a 4th and 1 for a 5th... " + the number of ribbons...

1.0.0.1.1.1 would make a total of 9 for me on place 97 while places 89 to 93 only sum up to a total of 8

what do i get wrong here?
