Hahahaha...no that would be boring. As I said....there is nothing wrong with disagreeing or discussing...but there is a lot wrong with arguing and fighting.

What some see as argument and fighting, others might see as discussion and disagreement.

Maybe it's more a matter of perception.

I concur, but I don't want to see any cats. I will whine if I see cats.

it sucks to be so out of the loop. i have no idea what this rant is about.

i will say, though, that i enjoy a good argument or even a good fight...as long as it doesn't downgrade to personal name-calling and histrionics.

Whilst I have seen a considerable increase in arguing and heated debate lately about every subject under the son, I have made some observations about many of the people involved - Person A and Person B agree on Issue 1, but are diametrically opposed to each other on Issue 2. Person C agrees with Person A on Issue 2, but not so much on Issue 1 where they are more aligned with Person D.

The point is, we can all find issues on which to agree and issues on which to disagree.

And frankly, I can't say I've seen more than the average amount of deterioration of the arguments, but then I have been avoiding quite a few threads that I hear loud noises eminating from.

I also don't know who has left because of any of this recently. But there again, I'm not guarding the door either.

And with that, *pshhhhht* I shall have another beer and see what's going on in the drunk post thread.

To be honest...this site was fun for me until people like you started joining...running around, telling people how they should act, thinking everything should go the way you say it should go because you say it should go that way.

As far as you telling anyone to grow up...I think you need to grow up and either enjoy it or move on. Me, personally, I moved on for a while and obviously when I'm not here for people like you to complain about, you find other things to complain about.

You're not happy...pack up, move on, and don't let the door hit you. The world isn't going to bend to suit your needs...and neither is dpchallenge.

I joined this site a couple of years ago...and eventually starting joining in about 18 months ago. This site is great. Or was. And still can be. You see....I am like many of you. I am passionate about my work. I am also the type of person that likes to see people happy. On this site I could enjoy my craft, study others work, help a few people with their work and maybe make a few people smile along the way. I have brought in many new members as well as given out heaps of memberships to people on here that I have never met, but hoped to encourage to do better in their line of work.

And that's how it was.

Then a few of you got your pretty little noses out of joint. Why?? Who knows what goes on inside your heads. Maybe you should get a life. Yes, that is harsh...but think about it. Lately I have come onto this site of a morning, not to see what beautiful pieces of work have been added, like it used to be. Noooooooooo!! Lately it has been a case of 'Who is fighting now?' or 'What is the latest argument about?'

How pathetic is that.

Why don't you all grow up? If I wanted to hear arguments, I just have to listen to the children. Or maybe that is what you are....nothing but children. I thought you were all meant to be adults.

Yes, it is healthy to have an argument...but make sure there is a damn good reason for it...not these pathetic excuses I am hearing. Things like, I don't like change, barnyard animals, get a life, you don't know what you are talking about, etc etc. And don't start saying I am pointing the finger at anyone...I am NOT!! I am speaking in general.

And as for removing posts...heck I have had my fair share of posts removed...sometimes because of baiting me. But that makes me just as bad (see, I can admit it....but can you?) I should have just ignored it and reported your post. But I didn't. And I took a step back and reassessed the situation.

Why I am hated by so many of you, I don't know. You haven't the guts to say why. And I used to toss and turn worrying about it. Until a good friend said yesterday, to not let it worry me. I shouldn't have to change for others. And that person was right. I haven't done anything intentional to upset you, so I am not going to change. And somehow I think this goes for many out there. Yes, there seems to be 'barnyard animals' according to some. But there are also many other groups out there who seem to think this is their site...and they seem to be put out thinking that their position is threatened. None of you own this site...only D&L do. So why don't you stop acting like children and start enjoying this site for what it is and what it has to offer. Many of you paid to be on here...so what....does that give you the right to DEMAND certain aspects of the site. No, it doesn't. It allows you to enjoy this site for what it already is. Yes, you can put in suggestions for future improvements...but not to demand that things stay as they are. This isn't your place.

Yes I am p***** off. This is a photography site people. With photography comes many different areas. If you don't like it...get out. There is nothing wrong with discussion...but it seems you lot can't have a discussion without getting your knickers in a twist and jumping up and down screaming like a two year old throwing a tantrum.

Get a life for goodness sake.

I realise this thread is whinging and bitching just like many of you do...but it is about time someone had the balls to say something. You have a choice. You can either continue whinging and end up killing this site...or you can realise that everyone can get along to a better level than what it is now. Many people have left...and many will. I have even considered leaving many times. But I am a bitch. I refuse to leave out of spite. So if you really want me to leave....than back off the crap. The more you pick on people, the longer I will stay. You have been so heroic in the way you have sent others packing, members that you could have learnt so much from. I hope you feel heroic...cause you certainly don't look it to everyone else. You have denied others from learning from those members. Is that fair? Did they pay good money to have that taken away from them? Who gives you the right to do that?

If you really don't like the way the site is going, or who is on here...then get out and set up your own DPC. There is nothing stopping you. You seem to think that you know everything....so put your money where your mouth is. Go and build your own.

Sorry. I mulled over using Tom, Dick and Harry or Barbara, Betty and Sally or some combination of those, but thought that would be confusing. Also, I had a hard time remembering who agreed and disagreed with who. (whom?) Eventually I got so sick of listening to them all bicker I forgot my point. ...and I made that typo that you were gracious enough to point out for me. ;-) *pshhhht* <-- That's the sound of beer opening. I got it from rossibilly. Don't get it confused with *pffft* which is some sort of dismissive gesture. Have I rambled long enough? *pshhhhht*

I, personally, dislike you because you're a middle-aged woman who takes pictures of herself naked with animals and her little daughter around. It's repulsive...and you have a loud mouth. No guts huh? You asked for it.

And everything's a joke to you. Nothing that anyone else ever says is serious...but when it comes time for Nudi err, Judi to spout her mouth off, everything is as serious as a heart attack.

Get off yourself and learn some humility.

Once upon a time there was a website. This website was unique, popular, and well-loved by a very many people. This website was mainly about photography, but it also included a forum element so that people could talk about many things, even non-photography, for those days when photography just got to be a little too much.

On these forums were many people. Nice people, crazy people, sad people, angry people, happy people, shiny people, smart people, not-so-smart people... all people. In these forums people talked and exchanged ideas and patted each other on the backs.. and yes.. occasionally got into fights. Small fights, large fights, bitter fights. Occasionally, people also left this website because of these forums. Never to be seen again.

However, for the most part, people got along. There was a great group of people dedicated to preserving the peace as well as they could, and seldomly ever got involved in the discord they were trying to prevent. It was, Once Upon a Time, a relatively happy place, but certainly far from perfect.

Then something happened. Something that was probably unavoidable. Something that tends to be a natural progression of all things. What happened is that this website grew. It became *more* popular, yet less unique. Numbers swelled, and, accordingly, did the instances of discontent. However, the base mechanisms for dealing with the discontent stayed the same. Like minimum wage vs. inflation, it quickly got out of hand.

Around this time, a portion of the community decided to push things. Push boundaries, push rules. These, of course, had always been pushed, but things were different now. The group of people selected to keep the pushing to a minimum consistently found themselves to be too close to the people doing the pushing, and little was done. The more pushing that was allowed, the more pushing was wanted.

So they pushed, and pushed, and while the majority of the masses just went on with their daily lives.. others decided to push back, or had had enough, or were simply tired of it all. Personalities clashed. Arguements were allowed to go to unheard of territory. Feelings everywhere were torn beyond repair.

So Once Upon a Time becomes now.

Now this website struggles to recover. It is evolving, and experimenting, and the people.. for the most part, have been returning to things they used to do before. There are happy people, and good people, and helpful people, and sad people, and shiny people, and angry people. There are attempts to keep the discord at bay by giving more people more things than have ever been given before, and by working out compromises intended to make as many people as possible as contented as possibly can be.

Yes, there are still arguements and fighting, and .. occasionally.. feelings hurt, and possibly the rare exodus. What is important to remember is that this happened in the "Once Upon a Time", and will happen again in the "In the Time to Come". What is also important to remember is that this website only gives you what you put into it.

I'm no saint. Nobody that would think about posting in this thread and keeping it alive is. This thread has one purpose, and one purpose only.. to keep the negative in the public eye. Energy to feed off. The very things being complained about in the OP, are pretty much the only things *in* the OP... So what are you putting into the site, is my question. Plenty of good things, one would have to be blind not to see that... but why is that not enough?

Only you can answer that question of course, but I leave you with a couple of things:

1) I wish I knew that you (and some others), could read this with an objective eye, and not take it completely the wrong way just because of who it was written by, but I've pretty much given up on that hope. Some people think that I have some kind of personal vendetta against them personally.. but I never have had. Believe that if you will, I can only say it and move on.

2) Anything I've ever said was only ever said out of the love I had for this website.. regardless of how misplaced or wrong I ever was in saying it, and I've been misguided and wrong on occasion.

3) It is *completely* unfair to mask your own desire to control your surroundings by turning it around and blaming other people's desires. Think about that.

4) Peace will only be achieved when those that desire it practice it, preach it, share it, and refuse to involve themselves in anything non-peaceful, at all times, ever. It is unfortunate that humanity seems to be completely incapable of this.. and I do not disclude myself.

Anyway, I've exhausted myself, and probably made no difference whatsoever.. so if it was attention you wanted, I give it freely.
If you truly, however, want the "crap" to be cut.. as you so eloquently put it, simply refuse to be a part of it from this time forward. Which, sadly, includes the will to not hit "post" on potentially inflamous threads.

(Just for the record, "inflamous" is my creation, formed from "inflammatory" and "infamous".. nothing to see here)

that's pretty much a weak and lame-excuse reason to hate someone - haven't you got anything deeper than that? you may as well half-hate me then because i am a middle aged old woman who has animals but doesn't take nakkie pics of herself because that would be just plain scary...
