I am very happy with these 4 pictures. We printed them in 8x10 inside 11x13 frames with a matte and hung them on the wall going up our stairs in order of youngest to oldest. I thought I'd post them here for any comments.
One of the things I wanted was a softer look. I am not very good with photoshop so I used noiseninja to help me get it accomplished.

I think you did a great job! Only thing is maybe the last one - the crop is different and profile opposite the others, but if they look good on the wall, be happy! :)
...only other nitpick is I woulda made them oldest to youngest going up the stairs - you know, following a timeline. Of course I'd be ok with it the way you did it if I was coming down the stairs. ;-)

Just horizontaly flip the bottom one, and then they are all facing the same way..... very easy.....

I think these are great. Much better than paying for studio shot and loads more fun.
Erin may hate hers in a few years time......I hate pics of me with braces after soooo many years!

Thank you for the comments. I probably should have did a horizontal flip of Logan to match the rest. My wife really likes the black and white pictures and this will probably be something I do once a year as they grow older. My older daughter is a teenager and has some facial blemishes from time to time and I find the BW pictures easier to fix. The NoiseNinja gave a nice soft look that we were looking for.
I need to get a book on Photoshop and BW Photography. Thanks again for the comments. |

I think you will LOVE the technique (which you will get used to very fast) for B&W images. It really does widen your tonal range. |
