Okay kids... The National Weather Service says there is a fog rolling into Oklahoma. I have been out in the fog a few times, and love the effect. Anybody have any pics in the fog to share? how about tips? most importantly, what kind of geographic feature should I be shooting for. Oklahoma is a strange place. Within an hour drive, I have a canyon.. A lake, a mountain, a beautiful waterfall, a large stream with hundreds of waterfalls, a dense forest, a lake (which I am bored of) and all kinds of general Oklahoma rural scenes. What do you guys suggest I go chase down. Once the sun comes up I will only have about 1 hour before it burns off, so I need to be somewhere early.

... trees, mountains, anything that could fade in and out of the fog, fences, the list goes on.

As for tips, photographing fog is like photographing snow. It usually needs a bit of over exposure to get it to turn out white. Of course, this depends on how much fog is in the picture.

Why not head out early while it's still dark and get some eerie fog shots with street lights, or position yourself on the opposite side of a tree or something with a bright light behind and it will give you cool fog-rays (for lack of a better term).

I would LOVE to shoot the Memorial in predawn fog and you're right there!! That would be the tops for me. I did get to shoot it in very light rain at night last year.

The woods are a good place to start.
