I use GIMP, and I always lose alot of quality when I resize and upload. What can I do to minimize the loss of quality?

I was going to tell you to make sure you use as much as possible of the allowed file size, but I see you've done that with recent entries. Some other things to do are:
- Look at what algorithm is being used to resize. Some are better than others. I don't offnand remember what GIMP offers, it's been a while since I had it loaded.
- Resize in increments of about 10%. This helps to retain detail.
- Sharpen (carefully!) after resizing, using a small radius.

Yay! You use GIMP!

I've been using the 'sharpen' function, myself, but I haven't quite figured out if that works well enough for here because I'm still new.

I'm just happy to see someone else 'utter' the word 'GIMP.'
