I'm emailing this to all that have indicating they be going. It will also be in the 1st post on this thread..

Has anyone tried to make their reservation yet? One person tried but was told DPChallenge wasn't in the computer. We have to go through the group department.

Just in case there is a problem, I want to verify the existence of this department and contact. I'll check on it today to make certain everything is on the up and up.

Well you can count me out for this trip. I really do want to go but am afraid I just won't have the money for it. We have the new baby coming and I would rather spend any extra money on lenses than on the trip as I really won't be prepared for it equipment wise.

I'm there!!!

Well, not yet. My flight arrives Las Vegas on the 25th at 5:45pm and I fly out on the 29th at 11:10pm on the redeye :(

So, I guess I'll get to the Motel/Marina Wednesday evening and will be able to spend most of Sunday there before driving back for a late flight.

I'll be going by myself and renting a car so if anybody is arriving and/or departing around those times you can contact me to hitch a ride. I don't remember how far it is from Las Vegas Airport to Lake Powell, can anyone tell me please?

I called about the room and they took my info, said that there are still rooms available and will call me back ("supervisor's in a meeting").

I can't wait!!!! This is going to be like a kid waiting for Christmas. I been there before but not with people who knew exactly where to go. I'm really looking forward to it.

I heard back from the Resort at the exact moment that I was PM'ing Becky. I've got my room squared away now and all that's left is to rent a car.

Just made my reservations for the lodging. We have 3 people who have made their reservations or should I say 3 rooms reserved. The rest (12) are being held until mid-March. Then they are released.

To make your reservations, go to the 1st post in this thread, call the number or send the e-mail. Laura Litke is the contact person.

Thanks Becky, for making all the reservation information so user friendly, I have just called and left a message for Laura to reserve a room as I wouldn't miss the 2nd Annual Red Rock GTG for nothin'.

I hope to be traveling down with my father in tow for this trip, he's an old desert rat / photographer / potter / painter, so should be fun to have along for a different perspective.

Shoot in the AM, go home in the PM. I'm not letting those great morning rays go to waste. Also, if we can get to the Wave (permits are only available the day before), we'll take them when we can get them.

Nikolai, we'll be on some dirt roads, which are fine unless it's been raining, then you'd need an SUV. Most of the Salt Lake crew have SUV's, so car pooling will work if you'd like to save some money and go regular car.

I'm taking time off of work AND flying in from Miami because this sounds like it's going to be one very serious GTG. I was disappointed that I missed the one last year, especially after I heard how well it went.

I hope that you can make it.

I have asked for vacation on April 28 and 29 (Saturday and Sunday) and combining with Monday as my regular day off. I will be driving up from Phoenix on Friday late afternoon. Please keep me posted on where you will be. etc. I am getting excited!! Its been a long time since I went on a real DPC GTG.

Here is my plan so far....

21st - Fly to Las Vegas
21st-23rd - Zion NP
23rd-25th - Grand Canyon Area
25th-28th - Page, AZ - GTG!!!!!
29th - Drive back to Las Vegas after sunrise and fly back

Does anyone want to meetup before GTG?

I just made my hotel reservations through Priceline for $50 a night. Sorry I will not be joining you all at the marina, but I am on a strict budget and this is the only way I could stay for all 4 nights. I am sure we will still shoot together every day, and join up for meals.

PS, I will be at the Marriot Courtyard, a 2 1/2 star hotel, and did a "name your own price" on Priceline. Gotta love a bargain.
