I've been asked to do headshots of the cast of a production I'm involved in. It's for school, and since we're going to be shooting in a theatre anyways, I figured I might as well use the theatre lights for the shots!

Can someone explain the proper way to setup, light, position and take headshots!? Keep in mind that I will be using ceiling mounted theatre lights, which are very strong lights.

I have heard the shooting from above can be quite effective, and my sister (who recently had professional headshots taken, she's a dancer, did it this way and the pictures were very good), is this true? and if so, how do you do it properly?

Thanks all!

Lee
