I'm going to a Trailblazers game tomorrow. A friend has box seats. All I have are my kit lens and 50mm f/1.8 though. Is it even worth taking my camera without a telephoto? Obviously the f/1.8 will be nice indoors but the seats aren't close to the floor at all. What do you guys think? |

Nope....You're just gonna get some shots where you can't really make out any of the closeup action.

If you can get courtside you might get lucky but I'd have to agree with cryingdragon...

Do you have the 70-200 or 70-300? Either of those might work

Lighting is pretty good at the Pro games so even a slow, longer zoom should do well.

Looks like the longest he has is the kit lens though... I had some luck at a pro wrestling event with my 80-200 f4.5-5.6... Clicky here...

Also, remember, no flash. And sometimes they don't like us spectators having DSLRs with big lenses on them. I've had friends told to put them away at Hornets games.
