ISO 100 = f/8
shutter speed can vary depends on wanted effect

Took some lastnight, lousy fotos but due to weather
F stop was between 4.2 and 5

Like OMG...

I'd try anything from f5.6-f11. If you have a release, hold it open for multiple bursts, placing a black cloth or something over the lens in between bursts.

Edit to add, use your camera's lowest ISO setting.

Actually I would suggest trying varying the shutter speed - try 0.5, 2 and 5 secs for very different effects.

Make sure the lens is set to focus on infinity - I generally use manual focus...

Fireworks are so far away that depth of field is not an issue. I generally use a lowish (open f stop) around 4.0... but you will need to try a few things and see how the histogram looks...
