My Digital Art
I have been trying to use the Lucisart filter to process these images to get that "Dave Hill" look. Any comments or opinions would be wonderful. Thanks for looking. |

Well, you're getting zeroed in on "the look". I think you need to choose the images you use it on very carefully though. It works particularly well with the classroom shot. In most of them there's a conflict happening (IMO) between the BG and the subjects. As if this would work better if you masked out the subjects and reverted the BB to a more-normal tonality. I'm not sure. In general, especially on the less successful shots, this has slid over into the sort of imagery that looks like it is attempting to emulate a style of painting; the overall feeling I get from it is more or less the same as what I get from using the artistic-effect filters in PS, like watercolors and so forth. It's not something I'd personally want to have happen in my photos. Or not in most of them anyway.
