Okay, last update in the Kellycomment Saga... someone provided me some more detailed feedback than what was originally posted, and I am SO thankful for that. The feedback was helpful, too, and I'll be thinking of it next time I try this style.
So yes. All is well. :-) |

That's a pretty good definition of "Best of" if you ask me. |
Ya know what?
I needed that!
Thanks, I no longer care about my score in this one.......it's a chance for it to get some views.

Anyone fancy a vote & comment marathon on the best of 2006? I'm thinking of using up some time going through them all.

I don't know which Best of you were looking at but for me, it's hard to vote anything less than a 6. |

Out of the 56 comments I have between the B&W and Procrastination, I have *one* comment from a Team Suck member.
A guy could get a complex!......8>)

Worry not, NikonJeb Team Suck will comment on your photos after the challenge if not during :-) |

Remember though that scoring in the high fives here actually means that you have a good photo in the eyes of many of the voters. Whenever you break five, it means that more people are coming along and clicking five or above on your shot than are clicking less than five.
In other words, don't dwell on it. |

I've got to post this before it goes away. I think I had an advantage in this contest in that my husband and I took six-months off last year and travelled all over the US and Baja Mexico, so I had a lot more photo ops than the average person. Still, I'm in shock at this score.

Sometimes being in the right place, at the right time with the right light helps. And a change in scenery can be stimulating. |

I don't get it...when I just whip off a shot for a challenge and don't expect it to do well, it goes up. When I actually set up a shot, do the lighting, aperture, shutter speed, ISO etc, the shot tanks!

It was a joke, Bob. Note the time stamp on my post. I didn't really look at 712 pictures in 2 minutes. :)

I have the same experience. My highest-scoring shot took about a minute to set up. And since it was too dark to register on the LCD, I was just guessing about the aim. Took 3 shots before my batteries died. A couple of hours of processing, and BAM. But some I've spent real time on didn't do well.
Just goes to show you, it's the result, not the effort.

Same with my highest-scoring shot, the Occupation one - I had the camera at arm's length and basically rattled off four shots, blind. And I nearly got a six!
Ps like your comment on my procrastination! |

Hey, everyone, we get two weeks to vote on Best of 2006! That'll probably mean we get more votes. With the number of entries, I'm surprised to already have 50 votes, actually.
For the first time, I'm using "buckets" as a first pass, where everything goes in 5, 6, or 7. Then I'll fine tune later.
