Hi all, found this link to a photographer that posted his photos from the Southern California fires. Some amazing images here and very sad.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all affected.

Me too Tina, I pray they get the fires out soon and end the loss for all the folks in southern California.

I'm fortunate to be about 15 miles from the worst of the fires, but went to lunch down to Encinitas, and found myself right in the middle of a fresh brush fire along I-5. Some idiot driving down the freeway with a muffler draging on the pavement making sparks set off about a half mile of fires along the road. I drove through it about 20-30 minutes after it started. So this idiot (me) had his camera in the car and started discretely snapping pics out the passenger window. If any came out, I'll post some later.

The good news: the winds weren't blowing, and half a dozen fire engines responded very quickly, and the fire was pretty much out within an hour or so.

Hey Scott,

Thanks for sharing your amazing story. Hard to picture someone driving along starting fires as they go. I hope he was stopped somewhere. Good to hear there were firefighters available to tackle that before it got just as out of hand.

I heard a signal fire is what started one of the fires. Have you heard any speculation on the other fires?

Yeah, a hunter setting a signal fire was the cause of the biggest one, and he's been arrested at this point. I haven't heard any cause for the others yet.
