I have observed with interest all the comments in the forum threads about the pros and cons of expert editing. I personally feel that it should become a part of DPC ven though I have not entered either of the challenges. For those that do not like it, noone is forcing you to enter a challenge and you certainly should not vote. There are the basic and advanced challenges for you. For me and many others the talented people here at DPC Have many things they can teach us. Like it or not, these techniques are being used every day by the professionals. DPC needs to remain the cutting edge of photography websites. Some of my suggestions for Langdon and the SC are:
1. Immediately make Expert Editing an integral part of DPC
2. Place an emphasis on explanations of our experts' techniques
3. Schedule at least 2 or 3 challenges per mo
4. Continue to stress the use of photographs as the basis for
submission, but allow digital to be a part of the overall entry

I agree that the Expert Editing ruleset should stay. For those apposed to the growing trend, enter and vote, only in the advanced and basic editing challenges. Remember that you do not need to apply expert editing to enter the challenges but do not be bummed out if a photoshped entry wins.

IMO there should only be about 2 max (expert editing) challenges per month.

Like dfstevenson said "pros use these techniques all the time"
For instance look at advertisments. Somebody's getting paid to do it.
