It finally came! Photoshop CS2 is now installed and running on my machine! Wowsa! A brief look at shadow/highlight has me scratching my head in amazement. I can't BELIEVE this nifty tool was ruled basic-legal, jejejeĆ¢„Ā¢. It definitely reinforces my opinion that tone-mapping of a single exposure should also be basic-legal (which in fact it is). A brief foray into shadow/highlight suggests that when used on a single exposure (not an HDR composite) it is very much in the same ballpark as Photomatix tone mapping.

One thing I notice is that my PS7 drop-down of thumbnails isn't there anymore. has this been replaced by Bridge?

Anyone have any advice/suggestions/tips for what i should be looking for in this new-to-me program?

Robt.

Just cross the bridge and you're in.
I've used the bridge ever since.

I shoot all my pictures in Raw plus .JPG-Fine
In the Bridge, I usually, preview them at the side-by-side, scrolled to the largest thumbnail sized

Cheater. I had hoped I had changed it enough to hide from a casual Google search :-(

Yeah I am a little ashamed ... I will try harder the next Quote. But it did get me to read the poem and some more of his work.

I was equally disappointed. Bridge is nice, but it is not convienent having to flip to bridge to see your thumbs. If there is a way to get the old behavior, I haven't found it.

CS3 installing as we speak; talk about a quantum (if temporary) upgrade!

I don['t see a problem with that; open Bridge and it lives in the taskbar anyway; one click and it's there, just like the other. Just a different locale to click...

Ahh, I don't know what feature it is you are missing then. Thumbnails for me were in a drop down box within CS. No separate application hovering around consuming resources.

Shadow/highlight was actually one of the first PS tools I played with, and I love it. Now I just need to learn how to get the most from it (and the rest of PS)

Ditto for PS7. Now there's bridge. Resources? What are those? On my new machine they aren't an issue :-)
