I'm going to do something I rarely do and ask for honest opinions on a photo. Looking at other Pink Floyd entries, I seem to have an unusually high amount of 1's. Can anyone tell me why? Is it the "man nipples" that were mentioned in 2 different comments? Is it the exposure? Is it too soft or too sharp? Is it the lyric (implied violence)? I thought I would get at least mid 5's on this and it started out high 5's and never stopped going down.
As a side note... I am quite happy with the photo, it came out pretty much as what I envisioned before hand. Thanks for your opinions, whatever they may be.

Saw 1's on a number of photos where the only thing I could think was that people didn't recognize the title and figured it was dnmc. Composition on this shot could use a little work. Maybe get his head lined up on a thirds intersection? Crop it more dramatically? Lighting could be more dramatic but I'm no expert there. |

I didn't vote this image a 1, but can tell you my honest opinion of it, is that it looks like a snap shot from a crazy party. I have lots of those type shots in shoe boxes. |

I really enjoyed your entry (9 from me) and although it is not dpc-shiny, I don't see glaring technical problems. It does however, look like you used a flash (even if you didn't) and there are a lot of knee-jerk flash-haters 'round these here parts. So either that... or perhaps the voters felt the subject was threatening them personally ;-) So, well, you know how the song goes... "Don't Worry... Be Happy... One of These Days I'm Going to Cut You into Little Pieces..." |

I did use fill flash. We were outside at night with me laying on the ground on a small hill in our front yard with him standing over me. The main lighting came from a streetlight. I'm just glad a cop didn't cruise by at that moment because it wouldn't have been fun trying to explain.

yes, it's the snap shot factor.. anything that doesn't have that clean perfectly 'studio' look counts for not much in people's eyes..
I think it's the flash that takes the pic down..

I found the portion of his right arm(pit) distracting...I had to look several times to find out 'what' it was...

I knew what it was right away, but I didn't want to look at it. Better costume design would have knocked my score up a few points.
