Got a few images today with the new zoom lens. Detail seems pretty good. I was at maximum zoom, used manual focus, and approximately 35 feet away on the blue jay. Did crop some, but pretty happy so far with the lens.
On Downy, was around 10 feet away, through my bedroom window, zoom at 160mm.

Cool shots! I've also ordered myself Sony's Double Kit.
And what about shooting them in-flight? Is the shutter speed fast enough on the far end of 75-300?

I believe the shutter is fast enough, but I did not have time today to do much of that. I will try in the next few days. The sparrows love the bird feeder I placed on this side of my house, and they do flutter alot from the feeder to the forsythia hedge.
